HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED THERAPY?
Attending counseling sessions can help you to gain clarity on an issue, change unproductive behavior patterns, untangle complex personal emotions or embark on a journey of self-development. You may seek counseling as a result of a crisis, or you may be encouraged to seek counseling by family members, friends or colleagues. What ever brings you to Discovering Balance, seeking therapy is a personal investment in your self care to improve your life balance, overall wellness and success in life.
HOW LONG WILL THERAPY TAKE?
Our role at Discovering Balance is to help you develop concrete goals based on your current issues and concerns. We will consistently review goals and discuss treatment progress to ensure you feel progress is being made. Some acute problems can be dealt with in a brief period of time but this is not always the case. There is no magic number or formula to determine how long therapy will take. We are dedicated to your treatment and our primary focus is to be an agent for change to help you successfully achieve your goals. We can promise that the lines of communication regarding the appropriate time to end therapy will always remain open.
HOW WILL MY THERAPIST HELP ME?
Therapists can provide support, help you improve your problem solving skills and help you develop coping strategies for a wide range of issues. Therapists can help increase your insight and provide a different or fresh perspective on a problem that you have been struggling with.
Some benefits can include, boosting self confidence, improving self esteem, improving communication skills, learning new coping skills, attaining a better understanding of yourself, changing old patterns, developing new patterns, or managing your emotional feeling such as sadness, anger or other highly charged emotions you may be feeling.
HOW OFTEN WILL I MEET WITH MY THERAPIST?
The frequency of therapy is mutually agreed-upon by you and your therapist. This time frame is largely based on your presenting issues and the goals of treatment. We generally recommend weekly or biweekly treatment. Our office hours and availability will vary by clinician. Please call or message our office for scheduling information.
